Light up my event

Dear events planner,
I can't see what is hapenning
Yours faithfully
Eye sight

Disco lighting for business award ceremony
Need some lighting?
I've been attending lots of events lately reason being to post on my blog about the things that liked and disliked at the event. I have noticed that most events planners are not aware of how bright and colourful stage lights can be.  Yes want them but do not make us blind. As an event planner it is important make sure that the stage lighting is not too much for the guests. We need them to see where we going and who's on the stage. Events planners need to know that there are people with eye sight problem despite that they wearing specs, they still can't see if there's too much light. There are differents kinds of lighting for certain types of events, for a cocktail party event am expecting disco lighting so use an appropriate lighting according to the description of the event.

Appropriate lighting venue
How bright should the venue be?
Do I need to put rainbow lighting?
Do I need disco lighting?

Events planners need to understand how professional the event is and that will determine what needs to be there such as if its a business function there will be a presentation. There is no need to include colourful lighting because its a corporate business function, and the clients don't wanna be distracted by the rainbow lighting that doesn't fit in the description of the event. I think it is wise to chose a suitable lighting for your event.

  2. I see nothing wrong with having lights in an event, it makes the theme unique, but like you said...events planners should find or use a suitable light or lights for a specific event.

    1. True the lighting makes the event unique, but we also need to acknowledge how events planners are using the lighting and whether if its really appropriate for the event. Some events they really don't need to spice up with lighting.

  13. Before anything I Love the concept of focusing on the lighting aspect of an event. What many dont understand is that lighting plays an incritic role to the tone and feel of the event. Light is my view sends out a feel on the type of event it is, what is to be expected and so no. it important for event planners to want to proparly exercute their lighting well enough because it could be of much distraction to the event and more importantly the attendence of the guests.

  14. mmh nice question indeed, in my point of view i think the decoration depends on the event because you cant plan an event at inkandla homestead also known as the president's home with so many disco lights, rainbow lighting and staff thats a no no because you going to cause the presindent's cow to have blurry vision and the president will be not pleased about that and for the next event hes so not going to call you

  19. I think as an event planner you should put lights which will suit the the kind of event you will be hosting. For exemple you cannot put disco lights at a formal coca cola pr event.
